GMO Payment Gateway, Inc.
On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, GMO Internet Group's GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura, hereinafter referred to as GMO-PG) was selected for the first time as an "A-list" company in the "CDP2025 Climate Change" field conducted by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international environmental non-profit organization.
CDP's Climate Change A List is a comprehensive assessment of a company's ability to manage its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, respond to climate change, and disclose relevant information, and is given to companies that are at the highest level in light of international standards. We believe that this selection is internationally recognized by GMO-PG for its concrete efforts to reduce GHG emissions and its continued disclosure of climate-related information.

【Background and Summary】
GMO-PG is working on reducing GHG emissions as an important management issue in order to realize a sustainable society. For Scope 1 and 2, we will continue to achieve carbon neutrality with GHG emissions to effectively zero from the fiscal year ended September 2023 (*2). We have also set a target of reducing the GHG emissions per new payment terminal operation by 55% by the fiscal year ending September 2030 compared to the fiscal year ending September 2021. In addition, we have set a long-term target of achieving net zero GHG emissions by the fiscal year ending September 2050 in Scope 1, 2, and 3. These targets have been certified by the SBTi (*3) as a "1.5°C target" for the 2030 target and a "net-zero certification" for the 2050 target (*4), demonstrating that the short- and long-term reduction targets are consistent with international standards.
In addition, in order to appropriately understand climate-related risks and opportunities, we have been working to analyze the impact of climate change on our business and enhance the disclosure of information on risks and opportunities in support of the TCFD (*5) recommendations (*6). As an infrastructure company that supports payment processing of more than 21 trillion yen (*7) per year, we are also contributing to reducing the environmental impact of society as a whole by promoting cashlessness.
In addition to the effectiveness of these emission reductions, the management of Scope 3 emissions including supply chains, and the transparency of climate-related information, we believe that CDP's emphasis on the evaluation criteria has been internationally recognized for its steady efforts to set science-based reduction targets for 2030 and 2050.
We will continue to work to further reduce GHG emissions through the use of renewable energy and strengthen supplier engagement, promote the spread of cashless payment, digitize billing operations, and strive to reduce the environmental impact associated with our business activities, aiming to transform to a decarbonized society and realize a sustainable society.
