Fraud and chargeback

When a third party, other than the cardholder, impersonates you, Credit card payment you, and purchases goods (or services), it's called fraud.
When it turns out to be fraud, the credit card company will raise chargeback *.

※ What is chargeback?
If the cardholder does not agree to payment the usage fee due to fraud, etc., the credit card company refuses to payment the merchant.
In the event of a chargeback, we will not be able to payment the proceeds of the transaction. If the settlement has already been completed between GMO-PG and the merchant, or if it cannot be offset from the most recent transfer, GMO-PG will be asked to refund the corresponding amount.
Therefore, the merchant will be in a situation where the sales proceeds will not be credited even though the product has been shipped (serviced).

Why do you Security Code functionality?

Security Code is used as a security (security) code (encryption). It is not included in the magnetic information of the credit card, and even if the card number and expiration date information are stolen by skimming etc., it is information that can not be confirmed if the card itself is not at hand. Therefore, it is recommended to use it as a method of personal authentication to prevent fraud of credit cards by third parties.

Precautions

  • Available for Credit card payment only.
  • We do not guarantee the use of credit card members (cardholders) in Credit card payment using Security Code.
  • Even if you use Security Code, it doesn't completely prevent fraud such as spoofing.
