GMO Payment Gateway and GMO Financial Gate Obtain Net Zero Certification from SBTi for 2050 GHG Reduction Targets

GMO Internet Group, GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Prime Market: Stock Code 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG"), which develops comprehensive payment-related and finance-related services, and GMO Financial Gate, Inc. (TSE Prime Market: Stock Code 4051, President & Chief Executive Officer: Kentaro Sugiyama hereinafter referred to as "GMO-FG"), which develops a face-to-face cashless payment platform as a consolidated company, announced that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an international organization that promotes the setting of scientific targets for climate change countermeasures, has announced that it will develop long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets by 2050. We have obtained "Net Zero Certification" ^(*1). The acquisition date is Sunday, July 20, 2025 for GMO-PG and Tuesday, July 29, 2025 for GMO-FG.
GMO-FG has also obtained certification for the "1.5°C target" for its short-term target targeting 2030. This demonstrates that the short- and long-term GHG reduction targets set by both companies on a consolidated basis are consistent with internationally recognized scientific standards, along with the certification (^*2) obtained by GMO-PG in May 2024.
These certifications have clarified our GHG reduction policies in each area of online payment and Card Present Transactions, and further strengthened the foundation for contributing to the Decarbonization of customers and society through the provision of infrastructure of payments.
In June 2025, GMO-FG changed its market classification to the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In an environment that requires a higher level of corporate responsibility and information disclosure, we have obtained this certification as part of our efforts to create sustainable corporate value.

Both companies have identified reducing GHG emissions as a key management issue. In the fiscal year ending September 2023, we set a effectively zero of Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions ^(*3), and we are also working on Scope 3 with a goal of reducing GHG emissions per new payment terminal by 55% by the fiscal year ending September 2030 compared to the fiscal year ended September 2021.
