On Friday, May 17, 2024, GMO Internet Group, which develops comprehensive payment-related services and finance-related services, GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Prime Market: Securities Code: 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura) will be responsible for the release of greenhouse gases (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") of the Company and its consolidated companies (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"). As a result, our GHG reduction targets have been proven to be scientifically consistent with the "1.5°C target" of the Paris Agreement, which was adopted as a new international framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from 2020 onward, which aims to limit the increase in the global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

【Background and Summary】
We are promoting initiatives to reduce GHG emissions emissions and disclosing information based on TCFD (*1) recommendations, and have been highly evaluated as a best practice company in the CDP Climate Change Report 2023 (*2).
In the fiscal year ending September 2023, we will achieve carbon neutrality by achieving Scope 1 and 2 effectively zero on a consolidated basis (*3) We will continue to aim to achieve effectively zero until the fiscal year ending September 2030. In Scope 3, we have set a target of reducing Scope 3 emissions per payment handset by 55% by the fiscal year ending September 2030 compared to the fiscal year ended September 2021.
We have been certified by the SBT Initiative as a science-based target for limiting the increase in the global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Going forward, we will continue to go cashless (* 4) as a leading company in the payment industry. We will promote payment services such as paperless transfer forms and digitization of billing. In addition, we will strive to reduce the environmental impact of our customers and society through environmentally friendly business operations such as the introduction of effectively renewable enegy in data center power that processes transaction data and supplier engagement, and the reduction of GHG emissions in our business and supply chain, with the aim of transforming to a decarbonized society and realizing a sustainable society.
