GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Prime Market: Securities Code: 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura, hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG"), which develops comprehensive payment-related services and finance-related services in the GMO Internet Group, will start handling the fraud detection and authentication system "ASUKA" provided by Akuru inc. (President & Chief Executive Officer: Osamu Kondo, hereinafter referred to as "Akuru") from January 16, 2024 (Tuesday).
Online Payment Service EC businesses using "PG Multi-Payment Service" will be able to introduce the fraud detection and authentication system "ASUKA" (*1).
- *1 In order to introduce ASUKA, it is necessary to have a contract with Akuru.
【Background and Summary】
In 2022, the annual amount of damage caused by credit card fraud was 43.67 billion yen (up 32.3% from the previous year), of which more than 90% of the damage was due to number theft (*2). In order to prevent non-face-to-face fraud due to number theft, e-commerce businesses and other merchants with non-face-to-face transactions are required to take fraud measures.
GMO-PG is expanding its anti-fraud services to meet the needs (functions, fees, customizability, etc.) that differ depending on the industry, product, business scale, etc. to which the EC business belongs, and is now pleased to announce the launch of the fraud detection and authentication system ASUKA.
In principle, there is no need for complicated system development, and you can start using ASUKA in as little as 1~2 weeks with only simple implementation and testing, and the cost is a fixed price system (*3) that costs a fixed amount according to the plan every month. Therefore, it is suitable for e-commerce businesses that want to quickly and easily introduce fraud countermeasure services.
GMO-PG will continue to expand its fraud countermeasure services to meet the needs of e-commerce businesses.
