GMO Reserve Plus Co.,Ltd.
GMO Internet Group's GMO Reserve Plus Co.,Ltd. (*1) (President & Chief Executive Officer: Soichiro Fukuma, hereinafter GMO-RP) will launch the 'Inter-Animal Referral Reservation Function,' which digitizes referral reservations and information linkage from primary care animal hospitals to primary and secondary care animal hospitals (*2) as an option for the animal hospital reservation management system 'Animary by GMO.' Starting Thursday, October 1, 2026,
This option was designed and developed under the supervision of "Neovets Veterinary Referral Center," one of Kansai's leading advanced secondary care animal hospitals, reflecting the workflows conducted in secondary care settings. Referral reservations, which were previously scattered via phone, fax, or email, can be consolidated online, and statuses such as "visit," "examination," and "payment completed" after referral are linked between hospitals. Reservation information is transferred to the reservation management, medical care, and accounting functions of "Animary byGMO." This helps reduce the burden associated with confirming and posting reservation information at referral sites, as well as information omissions and communication errors, supporting the creation of an environment where veterinarians and staff can focus on their care.
- (*1) GMO-RP is a consolidated company of GMO Payment Gateway, Inc.
- (※2) In this release, 1.5-point primary care animal hospitals refer to animal hospitals that provide not only general medical care but also specialized care, advanced examinations, and surgeries. Secondary care animal hospitals refer mainly to those referred by primary care animal hospitals that provide more advanced and specialized examinations and treatments
【Background】
In animal medicine, the local primary care veterinary hospital handles routine care, and when specialized tests or advanced surgeries are needed, cases are referred to 1.5-point or secondary animal hospitals. In 1.5-point and secondary care, it is necessary to confirm the necessary equipment, departments, attending veterinarians, and available reservation slots according to the case, so it is common for the veterinarian at the referring animal hospital to handle the reservation procedures to understand the case.
In such referral appointments between animal hospitals, communication methods such as phone, fax, and email are often not standardized. The referring animal hospital needs to coordinate the call when it will connect, and if it does not connect, they may need to call back again or wait for a call back from the referring institution. At the referring animal hospital, confirming, copying, and consolidating reservation information from multiple channels, as well as reconfirmation due to lack of information, is a burden of work.
In response to these challenges, GMO-RP has developed the 'Inter-Hospital Referral Reservation Function' as an option for 1.5 primary and secondary care animal hospitals under 'Animary by GMO.'
Through this option, GMO-RP supports smooth collaboration between primary care animal hospitals and 1.5-level and secondary care animal hospitals. Going forward, we will continue to leverage our expertise in reservation management cultivated in both human and animal medicine to contribute to improving operational efficiency for medical and veterinary professionals and to the management reform of medical institutions and animal hospitals.
[Overview of the 'Inter-Animal Hospital Referral Reservation Function']
The 'Inter-hospital Animal Referral Reservation Function' was developed by combining patented technology (Patent No. 7897454) from 'Medical Referral & Scheduling Platform' of 'Medical Innovation byGMO' with expertise in reservation management for animal hospitals from 'Animary byGMO'. Furthermore, under the supervision of Neovets Veterinary Referral Center, we pursued functional designs tailored to the actual tasks required in primary and secondary care settings.
1. The referrer can be used for free
The referring animal hospital can be used by creating a free account dedicated to referral reservations. By accessing the dedicated page from the 1.5-point or secondary animal hospitals where the referral is introduced, you can check the available reservation slots that match the necessary facilities, departments, and veterinarians according to the specific conditions, and then make referral reservations online.
2. Registration items specialized in animal medicine. Seamlessly reflects reception, medical consultation, and accounting
From the dedicated reservation page, you can register information relevant to animal medical care, such as owner/pet details, symptoms, medical history, and purpose of referral, at the time of booking. The registered information is carried over to Animary byGMO's existing reservation management, medical treatment, and accounting functions. This reduces the need to re-enter information at the referring animal hospital, easing the workload.
3. Patient status information linked to referral sources. Additional features planned to be developed sequentially
After completing the reservation, the referring animal hospital can check on the management screen which stage the referred patient is in, such as "visit," "examination," and "billing completion."
Going forward, we plan to gradually develop a function that links image data such as referral letters, test results, X-rays, CT, and MRI between animal hospitals (*3). Through this, we aim to realize a system that can centrally manage everything from referral reservations to information sharing after consultation.
- (※3) The development schedule described is as of October 1, 2026. The timing of provision and the content of features may change depending on development progress
[Regarding the Supervision of the NeoBets VR Center]
Neovets Veterinary Referral Center opened in Osaka City in 2005 as Japan's first advanced animal secondary care facility in Japan (*4) by private sector. As a secondary care facility for specialized diagnosis and treatment after referrals from general animal hospitals, it currently offers departments including oncology and general medicine, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and neurosurgery. We also focus on surgical care and imaging diagnostics, performing approximately 2,000 surgical procedures annually and approximately 4,000 imaging diagnoses annually using CT and MRI scans. In developing this option, we supervised the practical tasks in secondary care, including the required input and confirmation items at referral reservations, sharing within the hospital after reservation, and communication with owners and the referring animal hospital.
This center will be the first facility to introduce this option and will begin operation on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

■ Comment from Neovets Veterinary Referral Center Deputy Director Hideo Akiyoshi
In secondary care, it is extremely important to reliably receive necessary medical information from the referring doctor, share it promptly within the clinic, and connect it to appropriate care. Neovets Veterinary Referral Center has been working to optimize and specialize the medical care system, building an animal medical system supported by teams rather than individuals.
In this development, we expanded this approach to collaboration with the doctors who refer us, emphasizing not just making reservations online, but also creating a system that allows smooth sharing of information necessary for secondary care—such as referral purposes, departments, and tests and treatments—from before the consultation. GMO Reserve Plus, we leveraged the expertise gained from the medical reservation system to carefully reflect our field needs in the system.
Going forward, through this system, we aim to foster an animal medical collaboration platform where referring physicians can be "easier to refer and trust," and for pet owners, it will be smoother and more secure to connect with them to advanced animal care.
About "Animary by GMO"
(URL:https://animary.jp)The reservation management system for animal hospitals, "Animary byGMO," is a service that systematizes tasks such as reservations, reception, medical interviews, examinations, and payments, supporting operational efficiency at animal hospitals and improving convenience for pet owners. In addition to reservation reception via the web and LINE, it supports complex reservation operations unique to animal hospitals, such as "multi-dog simultaneous reservations" and "chain reservations," which combine veterinarians, examination rooms, and medical devices for reservation and management. Additionally, it offers functions supporting operations from pre-visit visits to consultation and payment, such as vaccine interval control, calls via LINE, and cashless payment (*5).
- (※5) To use the cashless payment, a separate contract with GMO Epsilon, Inc. is required
[ About GMO Reserve Plus Co.,Ltd.]
Through the development and sale of the medical appointment management system "Medical Innovation byGMO," the dental appointment management system "Dentry by GMO," and the reservation management system "Animary by GMO" for veterinary hospitals, we aim to improve the efficiency of reservation management at medical institutions, improve the management of medical institutions, and support the concentration of patients. In addition, in recent years, we have been working on research and development of AI and robots, and have realized "prediction of cancellation rates by deep learning" and "automation of clinic reception by humanoid robots".
