GMO Payment Service (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Katsunari Mukai hereinafter referred to as GMO-PS), a consolidated company of GMO Internet Group's GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Partial: Securities Code: 3769 Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG"), is a consolidated company of GMO Internet Group. Prior to the launch of the new payment service "GMO Payment After Delivery" for e-commerce businesses scheduled for August 2013, we will start providing the service to some e-commerce businesses in advance from the end of May.

【Background and Summary】

The "buy now pay later-type" payment method, in which the buyer pays the price from a convenience store or post office after receiving the product, is widely used by major general mail order companies.
Even in online payment for online shopping, there is a growing need for "buy now pay later-type" payment, which pays for products after they arrive, especially among buyers who do not use credit cards.
On the other hand, GMO-PG, which provides various payment method including Credit card payment for EC businesses that develop online shops, has been receiving more and more requests for "buy now pay later type" payment from EC businesses that use and consider its services payment buy now pay later. We were conducting surveys and research.

Against this backdrop, GMO-PG established GMO-PS in January 2013 with the aim of expanding new business domains, and the company has decided to provide "GMO Payment After Delivery" that can be payment from convenience store cash registers, post office (Japan Post Bank) counters, bank counters, and ATMs after products arrive.

"GMO Payment After Delivery" will be available from August 2013 (planned) to more than 40,000 member stores (as of December 2012) of the GMO Payment Gateway Group and to e-commerce businesses that have not yet introduced the "buy now pay later-type" payment payment, as well as e-commerce businesses who wish to use the "buy now pay later-type" more conveniently. First of all, from the end of May 2013, we will start providing this service to some e-commerce businesses that are GMO-PG member stores.

【GMO Payment After Delivery】

"GMO Payment After Delivery" is a payment method that allows purchasers who do not use a credit card or do not have a convenience store nearby, or who wish to payment after the product arrives, to pay from a convenience store, post office (Japan Post Bank), or bank.
" GMO Payment After Delivery" solves the problems of EC businesses and supports EC businesses to expand their sales.

■ Advantages of EC businesses

The price of the product will be payment to the EC business, so there is no risk of non-collection. In addition, since GMO-PS performs billing and collection work for purchasers, EC businesses can use it conveniently and easily without hassle.
Even buyers who are hesitant to enter their credit card number or who do not have a credit card can shop online, so we can expect to purchase products from a user base that has not been able to capture them so far.
It is possible to capture "buyers who cannot receive products unless they are at home" and "buyers who shy away from direct contact with couriers" that could not be compensated by "Cash On Delivery payment".
In the case of "prepaid" CVS Payment, there are cases where the payment is not made by the due date, resulting in the cancellation of the order and the loss of sales opportunities, but the "buy now pay later "payment prevents such opportunity loss.

＜Outline of "GMO buy now pay later "＞

(1) When the buyer orders the product, select "GMO Payment After Delivery" by payment method.
(2) EC businesses register buyer information, delivery address information, etc.
(3) GMO-PS credit check the purchaser and communicates the results to the EC operator.
(4) If credit check OK, the EC business will ship the product before payment from the buyer.
(5) The EC business notifies GMO-PS of the shipment of the product with the delivery slip number.
(6) GMO-PS will ship the invoice (payment form) to the purchaser.
(7) GMO-PS will reimburse the purchase price to the EC operator payment
(8) The purchaser received the invoice (payment form) at a convenience store, post office, or bank payment
