GMO Internet Group's GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE partial: Securities Code: 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG"), which develops comprehensive payment-related services and finance-related services, will provide payment processing services for credit card payments for a total of 13 taxes starting (Monday) October 3, 2016 by Aichi Prefecture, and will produce and operate the "Aichi Prefectural Tax Credit Card payment Site" (URL: https://zei.aichi.jp).
GMO-PG provides a service that integrates Credit card payment processing at the time of tax payment and the creation and operation of payment websites, and has been adopted by municipalities in Tokyo, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Osaka Prefecture, etc. We will continue to develop a convenient and safe payment environment for more municipalities in the future.
【Background and Summary】
In today's non-Card Present Transactions market, credit card payments are being accepted not only for online shopping and services, but also for infrastructure such as NHK broadcasting subscription fees, electricity and gas charges, and taxes and utility charge paid to each municipalities. In addition, the Japan government has set the promotion of cashless payment as one of the growth strategy for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games (*1), and since the spread of digitization at the time of public payment is used as an indicator, local taxes will be used in the future. It is expected that the introduction of credit card payment for various fees will continue to progress.
Against this backdrop, Aichi Prefecture also started paying vehicle taxes (regular taxable payment on time) by credit card in May 2014. In order to further improve convenience for taxpayers and promote on-time payment, Aichi Prefecture will expand the number of taxes that can be paid by credit card to a total of 13 taxes, including individual business tax and real estate acquisition tax, from Monday, October 3, 2016.

In order for municipalities to realize credit card payment of taxes, it is necessary to carry out the Credit card payment installation procedure and the site creation and operation at the time of payment separately, but by using this service, it is possible to do these together. So far, it has been adopted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Tax and the Osaka Prefecture vehicle taxes.
