GMO Internet Group to develop non-face-to-face credit card payment processing business GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE part: Securities code 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG") has announced that it will provide FinTech (integration of finance and IT) services to Hokkuni Bank, Ltd. (President: Takeki Adaku, hereinafter referred to as "Hokkuni Bank") as a development of FinTech (integration of and IT). In addition to the Hokkuni Visa Debit Card ^(*2), an immediate payment transaction card that will be available from April 1, 2016 (scheduled), Hokkuni Bank also plans to provide a smartphone app called "Hokkuni Osaifu App" with the aim of strengthening the relationship between local residents and local stores, and GMO-PG will develop the app based on "GMO Pallet".
GMO-PG will support the regional revitalization efforts promoted by the company through OEM provision to Hokkuni Bank, and will expand the OEM provision of GMO Pallet to the real estate industry, insurance industry, etc., including financial institution.

"GMO Pallet" provided by GMO-PG is a wallet-free smartphone-based payment service that allows you to payment cards at real stores such as restaurants and apparel on a smartphone app. Since 2014, when it was launched mainly at restaurants in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, it has attracted attention as a highly convenient FinTech service, and is now being introduced at local stores.
On the other hand, as a leading bank in Ishikawa Prefecture and the Hokuriku region, Hokkuni Bank takes the lead in various activities in the region and provides finance services that local residents can use with peace of mind. In recent years, we have been considering the provision of new services using FinTech as an "community-based financing" initiative to improve the convenience of finance services for local residents so that we can promote regional revitalization toward the "regional revitalization" set forth by the Japan government.
Against this backdrop, GMO-PG will provide GMO Pallet on an OEM basis and develop a smartphone app called "Hokkuni Osaifu App" for card users and physical stores in order to contribute to regional revitalization by promoting the spread of the Hokkuni Visa Debit Card, which Hokkuni Bank will start handling on April 1, 2016 (scheduled).

■ Development of a smartphone application for users of the Hokkuni Visa Debit Card

In addition, by linking the use and granting of points when payment the card is linked with a smartphone app, we will create an environment where local residents can use the "Hokkuni Visa Debit Card" more conveniently. The app will be available on April 1, 2016.

■ Creation of apps for physical stores

The smartphone app for stores developed for physical stores is equipped with functions that can manage customer information such as store visits and sales history, as well as push notifications and coupon distribution to customers, and support the creation of a system that can be effectively used to improve repeat business rates and unit usage prices.
