GMO-PG will accelerate its business development in Asia through its investment in 2C2P Pte Ltd, which is expanding its influence in Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Indonesia, and Myanmar in addition to Thailand.

The Internet usage rate in Southeast Asia continues to expand with the spread of smartphones, and it is predicted that the growth rate will average 37.6% per year from 2013 to 2018 (*2) in the e-commerce market based on this Internet environment.
In anticipation of the development of countries and regions such as Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, GMO-PG has established local subsidiaries at five bases. In order to strengthen its alliance with 2C2P and expand its business in Southeast Asia, GMO-PG has made an additional investment of US$2 million (approximately 240 million yen*) in the form of a portion of the capital increase of 2C2P Pte Ltd. As a result, GMO-PG's accumulated investment to 2C2P Pte Ltd will be US$4.75 million (approximately ¥570 million*), making it a outside largest shareholder of 2C2P Pte Ltd.
In the future, GMO-PG will support the Japan deployment of major Thai companies that provide 2C2P payment services, and the two companies will promote initiatives that take advantage of the strengthening of the alliance.
