GMO Internet Group Develops Non-Face-to-Face Credit Cards and Other payment processing business GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Part: Securities Code: 3769 Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as GMO-PG) is a refund Remittance Service "GMO-PG Remittance Service" for e-commerce businesses. It was launched on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.
"GMO-PG Remittance Service" is a service that can efficiently and inexpensively perform refund and remittance operations such as online shopping cancellations and ticket refunds that occur in the operation of e-commerce sites by automatically systematizing them by linking APIs.
Background and Overview
In recent years, the e-commerce market in Japan has continued to expand, reaching 11.2 trillion yen (up 17.4% year-on-year) (*1) as of 2013. Along with this, the number of situations where refund and remittances from e-commerce businesses to users occur is diversifying and increasing, not only when canceling online shopping, but also when refunding tickets, remittances to sellers at auctions and flea market apps, and payment of rewards on point sites and affiliates.
However, Bank transfer and postal money orders, which are commonly used in EC businesses as refund and remittance methods, are burdensome due to costs such as fees incurred each time and the complexity of procedures. In addition, personal information, including the account information of the recipient (refund / remittance destination), must be handled, and the EC business operator is burdened with caution with an awareness of safety.
Therefore, GMO-PG has started to provide "GMO-PG Remittance Service", which enables e-commerce businesses to realize efficient and secure refund and remittance processing at low cost by registering Funds Transfer Service Provider (registration number: Kanto Local Finance Bureau License No. 00037) and partnering with major financial institution.
In addition to the existing payment (payment) service from users to EC operators, GMO-PG provides "GMO-PG Remittance Service" that provides payment (refund and remittance) from EC operators, making it possible to support remittances between users and EC businesses. In order to contribute to the development of the e-commerce business, we will continue to develop services that support safe and convenient transactions.

About GMO-PG Remittance Service
"GMO-PG Remittance Service" is a Funds Transfer Service-based Remittance Service provided by GMO-PG with Funds Transfer Service Provider registration. You can rest assured that the refund funds you receive will be protected in accordance with the Funds payment Act.
■Feature 1: Improvement of operational efficiency by automatic systematization of remittances and refund
We have prepared various APIs that can register accounts, instruct remittances (refund), remittances (refund), and query results. By using the API, you can send money and refund on the system without the need for complicated work such as creating and querying CSV data, thereby improving the efficiency of your work.
■ Feature 2: Secure remittance is possible without retaining account information
Since the beneficiary's account information is stored on GMO-PG's server, there is no need for the EC business operator to manage personal information such as account information. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the risk of leakage of personal information on the EC business side and perform secure remittances and refund.
■ Feature 3: Reduces the cost of transfer fees
Compared to the case where the EC business itself sends money by postal money order or each financial institution (counter), the transfer fee can be reduced.
■ Feature 4: Reduces the time and effort of money management
If you use GMO-PG's payment service, you can use payment sales proceeds as remittance funds (*2), reducing the time and effort required for cash management.
(*2) A prescribed contract is required to use this service.
