GMO Internet Group develops non-face-to-face credit card payment processing business GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE part: Securities code 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG") is a leading payment processing company company in Taiwan. Neweb Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG"), a leading company in Taiwan. On August 7, 2015, we invested US$1 million (approximately ¥120 million (*2)) from the GMO Global Payment Fund (*1) (hereinafter referred to as "GPF") to strengthen our business alliance with Neweb.
Since March 2014, GMO-PG has formed a business alliance with Neweb to provide the overseas payment service "GMO-PG Global Payment" (*3) in Taiwan. Through this strengthening of the alliance, we will further expand our business in Greater China and promote the Japan development of Neweb's various payment services.
(*1) GMO Global Payment Fund: Jointly established by GMO-PG and GMO Venture Partners Co., Ltd., GMO Global Payment Fund is the first payment Japan-focused fund that invests in payment-related businesses in Southeast Asia.

*3 This is an overseas payment service for Japan e-commerce businesses that have established overseas subsidiaries and are planning full-scale overseas expansion. In addition to Credit card payment in the local currency of each country, we provide a collection of payment method according to local needs.
Overview
GMO-PG currently has established five subsidiaries in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Thailand. Each local subsidiary will develop the overseas payment service "GMO-PG Global Payment" for Japan e-commerce businesses expanding into the region or surrounding areas, and invest in the payment "GMO Global Payment Fund," a -specialized fund that conducts capital and business alliance with promising local payment processing company companies. While demonstrating synergies, we are promoting business expansion in the Asian region.
In February 2014, as part of our business expansion into Greater China, which is driving growth in Asia, we established a base in Taiwan as a branch of our Hong Kong subsidiary and partnered with Neweb, a major Taiwanese payment processing company company that also develops business in Greater China. Taking advantage of this partnership, we are providing "GMO-PG Global Payment" to businesses such as Asian Basis Taiwan.
Taiwan's e-commerce market continues to grow by double digits every year, and is expected to grow further in the future, with it expected to reach approximately 1 trillion Taiwan yuan (*4) in 2015 (approximately 3.8 trillion yen / 1 Taiwan yuan = 3.8 yen equivalent).
Therefore, in order to accelerate business development in Greater China, including Taiwan, GMO-PG has invested US$1 million in Neweb through the GMO Global Payment Fund and strengthened its partnership. In addition to further expanding sales of GMO-PG Global Payment and strengthening sales support for products handled by GMO-PG member stores in Taiwan, we will promote the Japan development of various payment services of Neweb over the medium to long term.
