"GMO Pallet" has started on a trial basis mainly at restaurants in the Dogenzaka area of Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and stores using "GMO Pallet" will be able to "hold payment" by introducing Aplix's new Beacon "MyBeacon(R) Pro Proximity Area Specialized MB004 At". Customers can complete the payment just by holding up their smartphones, and even faster payment is possible.
"GMO Pallet" will build a "payment environment that does not issue credit cards" at physical stores, including this Beacon support, and will provide speedy payment without the need for a wallet.

GMO Pallet, developed by GMO-PG, is a completely new type of payment service that provides speedy payment without the need for a wallet. Unlike many other smartphone-based payment, customers don't have to take cash or credit cards out of their wallets at payment because payment at physical stores such as food and beverage and apparel can be completed on a smartphone app. For the store side, it can also improve the efficiency of the operations related to payment processing.

Customers (consumers) who pay the fee can payment at the store in two steps (1 swipe = check-in and 1 type-in = 4-digit PIN) by simply downloading the "GMO Pallet" app (free of charge) in advance and registering their credit card information (*1).

Since April 22, 2014, GMO Pallet has been on trial stage at approximately 30 restaurants, mainly in the Dogenzaka area of Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and has been well received by stores and consumers for its smart payment environment.

In order to provide an even faster payment environment, GMO-PG has realized a "Hold payment" by making the "GMO Pallet" compatible with the "MyBeacon(R) Pro Near-Range Specialized MB004 At", which can limit the range of receiving and responding to radio waves to a minimum of about 15 cm with Aplix's new Beacon. At the same time, Aplix's Beacon "MyBeacon(R) Pro MB004" was used to support automatic check-in.

In the future, "GMO Pallet" will pursue speedy payment without the need for a wallet, including "Hold payment" using Beacon.

With GMO Pallet's "Hold payment", instead of entering the 4-digit PIN required for customer payment, the payment is completed simply by holding the smartphone over the "Beacon" terminal at the store (*2 payment). All you have to do is hold your smartphone over it.

On the other hand, the introduction of "Kazasu payment" allows stores to reduce accounting time during busy lunch periods, and since "Kazasu payment" can be easily switched on and off, "Kazasu payment" can be applied during crowded lunch hours and normal during busy lunch hours.
