GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Part: Securities Code: 3769 Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as GMO-PG) is a new smartphone-based payment that allows customers to easily payment their rates by simply using an app (iOS compatible (*1)) on their smartphones (hereinafter referred to as smartphones), regardless of whether it is a physical store (real) or e-commerce (online). The service "GMO Pallet" will be available from today, April 22, 2014.
First of all, we will develop stores that can be payment by this service in the area around Dogenzaka in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and gradually expand the area.
In addition, from the same day, in order to disseminate the area around Dogenzaka, where there are many online venture companies and start-up companies, including GMO-PG, to the world as an area where you can payment smartly, we will launch a "100-person committee of store managers" with the participation of 100 store managers, supporters, and supporters of stores in the area. The "Committee of 100 Store Managers" will work to create a future payment environment for customers (= consumers) and provide smart consumption experiences through participation in activities to improve and promote "GMO Pallet".

"GMO Pallet" is a service developed by GMO-PG as a completely new type of payment service that provides a smart consumption experience. Unlike many other smartphone-based payment, customers don't have to take their credit cards out of their wallets at payment because payment at physical stores such as food and beverage and apparel can be completed on a smartphone app. For the store side, it can also improve the efficiency of the payment processing operations.

■ Flow of use and payment by store customers (consumers)
Paying customers can download the "GMO Pallet" app (free of charge) and register their credit card information (*2) to payment at the store with two touches (1 swipe = check-in and 1 type-in = 4-digit PIN) with a smartphone. You can also get coupons from the stores you use, so you can enjoy dining and shopping at a great price.

■ Flow and benefits of introduction on the store side
After completing the application procedure for GMO Pallet (*3), the store will be able to provide customers (consumers) with GMO Pallet payment method by downloading the store's dedicated "GMO Pallet Cash Register" app (iOS compatible (*1)) to their mobile terminal (smartphone or tablet) and registering the ID and PW issued by GMO-PG. payment In addition to improving the efficiency of processing operations, it is possible to easily manage customer information such as store visits and sales history, so it can be effectively used for measures to improve the repeat customer rate and unit price per use.
In addition, the smartphone that confirms the amount and enters the PIN to the customer who payment can be used not only on the customer's smartphone but also on the store's mobile device. For example, it is possible to provide smart payment method according to the usage scene, such as using the customer's smartphone for table payment at a restaurant (Fig. 1), or using a store-side terminal for payment at the time of ordering at a café stand (Fig. 2).
Please note that the GMO Pallet usage fee is only a 3.24% payment fee (*4).

GMO-PG plans to launch the full-scale service of "GMO Pallet" this fall, and will start accepting advance applications from stores that wish to introduce it, mainly in the area around Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

In addition, in the future, we will use the "GMO Pallet" system as a platform to provide payment services in OEM type and member contract type (with original app support) according to the needs of stores, and we will also provide "GMO Pallet" as one of the payment method in online stores.
