GMO Internet Group's payment processing business GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Part: Securities Code: 3769 Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG") has capital and business alliance with fluxflex, Inc. (Headquarters: San Francisco, CEO: Kei Kubo, hereinafter referred to as "fluxflex"), and in April 2013, it began full-scale support for the development of fluxflex's Credit card payment service "WebPay" for developers as an infrastructure partner.
"WebPay" can be implemented more easily with a Restful API instead of the complicated API of the conventional payment system, so it is possible to reduce the development time required to incorporate the payment system. In addition, since the API is independent of language and OS, it is possible to easily implement payment services for in-app purchases such as iOS, Android?, and Windows®.
【Background and Summary】
In recent years, developer-led "lean startup"*1 has become the mainstream in the construction and provision of web services, and it is required to be easily incorporated into the requirements of payment systems in a short time. In addition, in recent years, there has been a growing demand for payment systems that can be introduced in the form of easy-to-use APIs and libraries*2 that are independent of language or OS, as there are a wide variety of consumer payment scenes, such as billing and payment on web services and apps for various devices. In the U.S., payment services such as Stripe*3, which features ease of integration into payment systems, are attracting attention, increasing number of merchants and trading volume.
Against this background, GMO-PG believes that payment services that pursue ease of embedding without relying on language or OS such as iOS, Android, and Windows will be important in the Japan in the future, and have high knowledge and technical capabilities in this field and are compatible with "Stripe" payment We have formed a capital alliance with fluxflex, which provides APIs. GMO-PG will provide fluxflex with Credit card payment processing functions and contract of merchant infrastructure, which fluxflex will implement to develop WebPay, a credit payment service for developers. GMO-PG will support the deployment of "WebPay" by providing Credit card payment processing functions and contract infrastructure for merchants.
When developing web services and in-app purchases, developers took a considerable amount of time and effort to incorporate the flexibility of the API in proportion to the flexibility of the transition of supported devices and payment screens, but by using "WebPay" in the payment system, these flexibility can be ensured while payment It is possible to significantly reduce the development time required for system integration.
In addition, WebPay is expanding its payment library so that it can be used regardless of language or OS, and in the future, it will be possible to easily implement billing functions in web services and apps on a wide variety of devices and operating systems. GMO-PG and fluxflex will roll out WebPay with the goal of reaching 200 stores this year.
