Develop non-face-to-face Credit card payment business at GMO Internet Group, GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Mothers: Securities Code: 3769 Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG") and Sony Finance International, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Haruo Kamioka, On December 12, Sony Finance (hereinafter referred to as "Sony Finance") signed a comprehensive merchant contract for "eLIO"(1), a safe and easy credit payment service exclusively for online shopping, which is a proprietary technology developed by Sony Finance, and eLIO payment for e-commerce businesses who are using or planning to use GMO-PG's Credit card payment service. We agreed to provide and promote the service. This is the first time that a payment processing services company other than Sony Finance has used the eLIO payment service.

In recent years, the ratio of Credit card payment in e-commerce using the Internet has been increasing year by year due to its high convenience, and the Credit card payment ratio has risen from 50.6% in 2005 to 55.6% in 2006 (2). On the other hand, card crimes based on the fraud of credit card information, such as "spoofing," are on the rise, and the provision of more secure infrastructure of payments has become an issue for the credit card industry, and there is a growing demand for payment services that allow online shoppers to payment credit cards with greater peace of mind and convenience.

Against this backdrop, Sony Finance was one of the first to install its proprietary FeliCa(4) application, eLIO, on its own credit cards (3), providing a system that allows users to safely and easily shop online by simply holding the card or mobile phone over a reader or writer, and has already issued more than 1 million Actual cards. Currently, Sony's VAIO series of personal computers is equipped with a FeliCa port for using "eLIO" as standard, but in the future, it is expected to be built into PCs made by multiple manufacturers other than Sony (5), and the number of users of "eLIO" is expected to increase further.

In the past, when e-commerce businesses introduced eLIO, it was necessary to introduce (1) merchant contract with Sony Finance and (2) dedicated software for merchants, but with this alliance, GMO-PG and Sony Finance have entered into a comprehensive merchant contract for (1), and (2) GMO-PG's software for merchants "CCS Ware for internet" By incorporating the dedicated software for "eLIO" into the "eLIO" service, EC businesses will be able to use "eLIO" immediately without contract with Sony Finance or the introduction of dedicated software when using merchant acquiring service, which is GMO-PG's Credit card payment service.

Through this partnership, Sony Finance will be able to provide a system that makes eLIO widely available to sites that use GMO-PG's Credit card payment processing service, as well as general e-commerce businesses that plan to introduce it in the future, in addition to the approximately 300 Internet carrier stores that Sony Finance has developed independently.

By September 2007, we aim to enable payment credits with eLIO on a total of 1,000 sites. In order to provide more rational, efficient, and above all, safe, safe and secure payment for both consumers and businesses in the EC payment processing business, the two companies will use this comprehensive merchant contract as an opportunity to further consider cooperation and collaboration between the two companies.
