GMO Financial Gate's payment Platform Selected as payment Foundation for JR EAST MECHATRONICS Station Building Facilities

The GMO Internet Group's GMO Financial Gate, Inc. ^(*1) (President & Chief Executive Officer: Kentaro Sugiyama, hereinafter referred to as "GMO-FG") is a payment of GMO-FG on the payment platform for the East Japan Railway Company (hereinafter referred to as "JR East") Group's station building facilities developed by JR EAST MECHATRONICS CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "JREM"). We are pleased to announce that the Platform (the "System") has been adopted. As a result of this project, JREM began sequentially introducing the JR East Group to approximately 160 station building facilities and approximately 12,000 terminals in February 2026.
The system was selected because it is a platform that can meet the diversifying payment needs of merchants due to its full standard services and flexible customization support. In the future, we will aim to grow as a versatile and highly scalable payment platform with a view to expanding to various installation locations such as station buildings and station Naka facilities.

【Background】

As payment method in retail transactions rapidly diversify, consumer options continue to expand. While credit cards, electronic money, and QR code payment are used on a daily basis, stores are required to support multiple payment method. In particular, since station buildings have a large number of visitors and a wide range of usage scenarios, JREM, which provides a payment platform for station building facilities, has been adopted as a platform that can respond to future functional expansions.

【Overview and Prospects】

The system has standard features for major cashless payment as well as enhancements for JR East groups. In the future, GMO-FG will work with JREM to promote the use of this system with a view to deploying it to JR East Group merchants other than station buildings in the medium term, and to non-Group merchants in the long term.
