(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Kentaro Sugiyama, hereinafter referred to as GMO-FG), which develops a face-to-face cashless payment platform in the GMO Internet Group, and Soft Space (Headquarters: Kuala Lumpur, CEO: Joel), a Malaysian fintech company that provides payment solutions in Asia. Tay (hereinafter referred to as "Soft Space") has partnered to provide support for the terminalless payment app "stera tap" that acquires PCI MPoC (*1), the latest credit card security standard, from March 2024.

"stera tap" is a solution for SME that allows merchants to handle touch payment without installing a dedicated payment device by simply downloading it to a smartphone or other device equipped with Android OS. A SMBC GMO PAYMENT and contract are required to use it.
【Utilization of Japan's First PCI MPoC Certified Solution Service】
This service is the first in Japan to utilize the technology of Soft Space, the world's first certified PCI MPoC Certified Solution Provider. By adding the payment function to the business terminals used by merchants, we can expect to create new payment scenes. As a result, it will be easier for sole proprietors who have had barriers to the introduction of terminals and mobile sales scenes where it is difficult to carry payment terminals to introduce this service.
