(TSE GMO Internet Group, which develops comprehensive payment-related services and finance-related services Partial: Securities Code: 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as "GMO-PG") has entered into an agency contract for Sift Digital Trust & Safety Suite (SaaS) (hereinafter referred to as "Sift"), a Credit card payment fraud prevention service utilizing machine learning of Sift, Inc. (CEO: Jason Tan, hereinafter referred to as "Sift").
"Sift" is a Actual Credit card payment fraud prevention service that has been adopted by 34,000 websites and apps worldwide, and GMO-PG will start offering it as a "fraud prevention service (Sift)" in its comprehensive payment service "PG Multi-Payment Service" from today, Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
By introducing the "Fraud Prevention Service (Sift)", e-commerce businesses using "PG Multi-Payment Service" will be able to implement measures to prevent suspicious transactions of credit cards that are ideal for their e-commerce sites without the operational burden of tuning fraud rules (*1).

【Background and Summary】

Japan The size of the BtoC EC market in Japan is expanding to 17.9 trillion yen (up 8.9% from the previous year) as of 2018 (*2), while the amount of damage caused by credit card fraud exceeded 27.3 billion yen in 2019 (*3), and EC businesses are fraud account takeover and spoofing. Countermeasures are required (*4).
Under these circumstances, Sift has been providing Credit card payment fraud prevention service "Sift" to e-commerce businesses since 2011, which enables them to identify and notify suspicious credit card transactions and prevent fraud by machine learning consumer purchase information and fraud patterns. On the other hand, GMO-PG is promoting various types of fraud prevention services so that e-commerce businesses using the comprehensive payment service "PG Multi-Payment Service" can implement Credit card payment fraud prevention measures suitable for their e-commerce sites.
Therefore, GMO-PG has entered into a contract agency with Macnica Networks for the handling of "Sift", and from today, April 28, 2020 (Tuesday), "PG Multi-Payment Service" has been provided as a "fraud prevention service (Sift)" to e-commerce businesses using "Sift".

The "Fraud Prevention Service (Sift)" automatically optimizes the rules for fraud methods that change every day, so EC businesses do not need to tune fraud rules in-house, and can take optimal fraud measures for their own EC sites. In addition to being easily implemented by embedding and linking the JavaScript (or Mobile SDK) and API of the "Fraud Prevention Service (Sift)" in the company's e-commerce site or mobile app, the hurdles for introducing and operating Credit card payment fraud prevention measures on the e-commerce site can be lowered because the details of the measures implemented can be checked on the management screen.
