In the future, GMO-PG will continue to consider adding methods for payment (refund and remittance) from e-commerce businesses to users, such as gift certificates and balance charges to payment services.

【Background and Summary】

In recent years, as the BtoC EC market in Japan continues to expand to 17.9 trillion yen (up 8.9% from the previous year) (*1) as of 2018, the diversification of individual consumption styles is progressing, and the presence of the sharing economy, which lends, sells, and exchanges places, vehicles, goods, people, money, etc. between individuals through the Internet, is increasing. Along with this, the number of situations in which refund and remittances from businesses to users occur, such as cancellations for online shopping, refunds of tickets and travel fares, remittances of remuneration to crowdsourcing and freelancers, and remittances to sellers of auction and flea market apps, are also diversifying and increasing. Since April 2015, GMO-PG has been providing GMO-PG Remittance Service to e-commerce and online service providers to efficiently and inexpensively perform refund and remittance operations.
In order to expand the refund and remittance and remittance methods of users in "GMO-PG Remittance Service", Seven Payment Service's "ATM cash receipt service" will be added and will be available by the end of April 2020.
