GMO Internet Group Develops Non-Face-to-Face Credit Card payment processing business GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Partial: Securities Code: 3769 Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura (hereinafter referred to as GMO-PG) will be issuing a " " from August 18 to the end of September in response to a series of customer information leaks. Campaign to switch to a non-card information retention service".

This campaign is a campaign in which merchants who are currently using a credit card information retention system switch to a "non-card information retention service" (a service that allows advanced Credit card payment without having to keep credit card information in the merchant's system) that does not cause credit card information leakage, and the initial cost of 500,000 yen, which is usually 500,000 yen, is reduced to 50,000 yen (50,000 yen including tax), which is one-tenth the price. 500 yen). In line with this, we will implement a "Partner Finance Program" that will contribute system construction support money with a maximum limit of 1 million yen to companies that support the switching of merchants in terms of system construction.

Background and Overview

As the demand for e-commerce such as online shopping increases, there is a need for an environment where credit cards can be used more safely on the Internet, and there is an increasing need for merchants who operate e-commerce sites to strengthen their defenses against unauthorized access from the outside as well as their internal strengths. Against this backdrop, GMO-PG last year expanded its functions so that merchants who maintain credit card information in terms of system and operation can use the "No Card Information Retention Service" that stores credit card information in the GMO-PG system instead of storing it in the system of the EC site, even in advanced Credit card payment such as recurring payment. By not having credit card information, it is possible to prevent leakage of credit card information due to external unauthorized access.

However, there are still many e-commerce sites that do not use this "non-card information retention service". In addition, in response to the recent spate of leaks of customer information, including credit card information, from companies and organizations, GMO-PG has launched the GMO-PG "PG Multi-Payment Service," which is equipped as standard with a "card information retention service," in order to contribute to the promotion of the construction of a secure e-commerce site so that consumers can Credit card payment on the Internet with peace of mind. We have decided to offer the initial cost for a limited time at 1/10 of the usual price.

Through the campaign, we will educate our merchants on the safe operation of our e-commerce site, strengthen the safety of our merchants, promote the spread of simple and complete infrastructure of payments, and strive to increase trust in Credit card payment itself on the Internet.

GMO-PG's "PG Multi-Payment Service" is a SaaS type that allows you to use a variety of payment method such as convenience store storage, electronic money, and Pay-easy in addition to credit cards, and also implements 3D Secure (*1) and Security Code (*2) free of charge fraud. Prevention can also be realized. In addition, when switching, it is necessary to change from the payment service you are currently using to "PG Multi-Payment Service".

We also plan to add more fraud countermeasure options to "PG Multi-Payment Service" in the future.

In addition, this campaign will also implement a "Partner Finance Program" that will contribute construction support money to companies that support the conversion of merchants to the "No Card Information Retention Service" from the construction side.

(*1) 3D Secure: In addition to the card number and expiration date, the customer enters an Internet-only ID and password issued by each credit card company on the Internet to payment the card.

(*2) Security Code: You can confirm that you have the card in your possession by using the last 3 digits (VISA/MASTER/JCB/DINERS) on the back of the credit card or the 4 digits on the front.
