GMO Internet Group's GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as GMO-PG) will hold a free online seminar on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. to explain the latest trends in off-app billing that will change in response to the full implementation of the Smartphone Act (*1).
The full implementation of Smartphone Act expands the areas for app operators to consider, such as fee optimization, app-to-web lead design, and security measures. In this seminar, we will summarize the practical points that should be kept in mind in response to these changes in the environment, and explain the latest trends and examples that have become clear about one month after the full implementation.
GMO-PG will provide useful information to app operators by utilizing the knowledge it has cultivated while supporting payment processing of more than 21 trillion yen (*2) per year, mainly in Japan Japan.
This seminar will be co-hosted with Repro Inc. (Representative Director: Yusuke Hirata, hereinafter referred to as "Repro"), which provides marketing support for apps. In addition to GMO-PG's payment field findings, we also cover practical knowledge of app growth support with Repro for a more comprehensive understanding.

【Background】
With the full implementation of Smartphone Act in December 2025, the environment surrounding payment and revenue model for app operators will change significantly. In addition to existing in-app purchases, the option of off-app purchases using the web payment mechanism is expanding, and there are more and more matters to consider across each area of business, development, and marketing, such as fee optimization, app-to-web lead design, and security measures when using external links.
GMO-PG offers payment solutions for app payment field that you can choose from based on your business scale and business model, as well as support from sales and professional teams. We have a stable payment foundation to support payment processing at 150,000 stores (*2) and an internal security operation system.
