(Headquarters: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, President & Chief Executive Officer: Eishi Serizawa, URL: http://www.mic-japan.co.jp hereinafter referred to as "MIC"), which provides a mail-order support system at Muto's subsidiary, a major mail-order company, for the "Mick @ Payment Credit Service" developed by Mick for mail order businesses. GMO-PG is connected to 36 major credit card companies and provides a Credit card payment processing service that accepts all credit cards in circulation in the Japan. We are also taking advanced measures in terms of security, such as supporting personal authentication systems such as 3-D Secure.

On the other hand, MIC is a leading company that supports mail order businesses. As a system subsidiary of Muto, a major mail-order company, we have developed a total solution service specializing in the mail-order business, "Mail Order One-Stop Service", which is a total solution service specialized in the mail-order business, developed based on the Actual and experience cultivated through the development and operation of systems related to mail-order for more than 250 companies SME. We will lead your mail order business to success.

Through this partnership, GMO-PG's safe and convenient Credit card payment service will be introduced to MIC's wide range of mail-order customers in a short period of time.

Outline of the business alliance

GMO-PG's Credit card payment system is incorporated into MIC's mail-order systems, "Mail Order Sherpa Plus" and "Web Sherpa (Online Shop System)", and we provide a system that links the mail-order system with the Credit card payment system. This reduces the burden of credit operations, which tend to be cumbersome such as approvals, revocations, and sales reporting.
We also provide "credit merchant acquiring service" that allows you to use Credit card payment by using a credit card company affiliated with MIC to mail order companies. This allows you to centralize your contract and accounting operations, reducing your workload.

Background of the Partnership

In fiscal 2004, sales of the mail-order industry as a whole were estimated at 3.04 trillion yen. This is an increase of 250 billion yen compared to 2.79 trillion yen in the previous fiscal year, and is the highest amount since the survey began. The year-on-year growth rate was 9%, the highest growth rate since 1991. (According to a survey by the Japan Mail Order Association)
In fiscal 2004, online shopping, which accounted for about 20% of total mail-order sales, increased by 32%, driving market growth, and online shopping using mobile phones grew by 47%. (According to Nikkei MJ's 2005 edition of the "e-Shop and Mail Order Survey")
In the future, mobile online shopping is expected to become widespread in earnest with the tailwind of the flat-rate communication fee system, and it is expected to become an important sales channel for the distribution industry.
There is a growing need to improve the efficiency of rapidly increasing operations and improve the revenue of business, and MIC will support the growth of the entire mail-order market through its "mail-order one-stop service."
In addition, the Credit card payment ratio for online shops is 51% (Internet White Paper), but the Credit card payment ratio for mail order is 15% in fiscal 2003 (according to a survey by the Japan Mail Order Sales Association of Japan), and it is expected to expand in the future.
