【Background and Summary】
In BtoB transactions, there are cases where the buyer who purchases the product must pay a transaction deposit to the seller on the selling side when the transaction amount is high or there is no transaction Actual. As a result, there are many businesses on the buyer side that are facing cash flow problems, such as "I can't raise a transaction deposit" or "I can't allocate enough funds to fund business such as purchasing and advertising."
In recent years, the shift to e-commerce for BtoB transactions using online mechanisms such as online shops and EDI (*3) has been progressing, and the market size has expanded to 352.9 trillion yen (*4), an increase of 2.5% from the previous year as of 2019. As a result, it is expected that the number of transactions that require a transaction deposit will increase further in the future even in BtoB EC transactions.
Therefore, in order to support the buyer's cash flow, GMO-PG has decided to start offering the "GMO BtoB Payment Guarantee," which eliminates the need for a transaction deposit for the buyer by paying the purchase obligation to the seller on behalf of the buyer in the event of default. GMO-PG will financially support the BtoB EC of both buyers and sellers and contribute to the further activation of the BtoB EC market by providing two types of guarantee services for BtoB transactions: "GMO B2B AR Guarantee" that guarantees accounts receivable to sellers, which it has been providing since May 2018, and "GMO BtoB Payment Guarantee".
- *3 Abbreviation for Electronic Data Interchange. A system that electronically exchanges business documents in BtoB transactions such as purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoice, which were traditionally paper-based, via a network.
