GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (TSE Partial: Securities Code: 3769, President & Chief Executive Officer: Issei Ainoura hereinafter referred to as GMO-PG), which develops comprehensive payment-related services and finance-related services in the GMO Internet Group), has announced that it will support the overseas expansion of EC businesses. From the start of easy cross-border e-commerce to full-scale deployment by establishing a local subsidiary, we provide and propose services for overseas expansion according to the strategy.
As one of the services for overseas expansion, from today, January 17, 2017 (Tuesday), Inagora Co., Ltd. (President & Chief Executive Officer: 翁永飆, hereinafter referred to as "Inagora") will propose the cross-border EC platform "Wangdou Platform" for China, as the first partner company among payment-related companies in Japan (※1)
GMO-PG will continue to expand its services to support the business expansion of merchants who wish to expand overseas, including the "Wandou Platform," which makes it easy to start cross-border e-commerce for China.

【Background and Summary】

In 2015, China's e-commerce market increased by 37.1% year-on-year to approximately 3,816 billion yuan (approximately 63 trillion yen (*2)), of which online sales of imported goods (cross-border e-commerce) accounted for approximately 118.4 billion yuan (approximately 2 trillion yen (*2)), accounting for 3.1% of the Chinese e-commerce market (*3)。 As the Chinese e-commerce market expands, the proportion of online sales of imported products is expected to increase to 7.0% in 2018 (*3).
Against this backdrop, there is a growing need among Japan e-commerce businesses to sell products to China's huge e-commerce market, but it is not easy to enter the market because developing cross-border e-commerce for China requires not only responding to different languages and business customs, but also improving distribution and responding to the Chinese legal system.

On the other hand, GMO-PG provides various payment services for overseas expansion and provides and proposes advertisements and marketing tools according to the overseas strategy of e-commerce businesses in order to support the overseas expansion of e-commerce businesses.

[About the cross-border EC platform "Wangdou Platform" for China]

The "Wandou Platform" is a BtoBtoC cross-border EC platform that directly connects Japan e-commerce businesses with Chinese consumers. The products registered on the "Wangdou Platform" are available through various shopping apps provided by Inagora, including the shopping app "Wangdou," which has more than 1.3 million installations and more than 15,000 products, as well as the major Chinese e-commerce sites "Taobao," "Xiaohongshu (RED)," "Jingdong (JD.com)," and "Kaola." It will be marketed to Chinese consumers.
The "Wando Platform" solves the following three issues that Japan e-commerce businesses always face when expanding overseas.
