[Background and outline of the alliance]

The Japan government has set a goal of increasing the ratio of cashless payment in Japan, which is currently only about 20%, to about 40% by 2025, and to about 80% in the future (*3)。 In addition, with the recent spread of the new coronavirus infection, contactless services using digital technology are attracting attention, and cashless payment is expected to become more widespread in the future. In light of this situation, businesses are required to support cashless payment.
GMO-FG is a "multi-payment terminal solution" that enables support for a variety of payment method while integrating the payment terminal, card reader, and pin pad into a single device, and an "embedded payment solution" that enables payment with IC cards by incorporating it into various devices. By providing the "payment Center Solution" by operating the payment Center that customers can use with peace of mind, we support the cashless operation of all industries and business categories.
Soft Space, on the other hand, provides solutions to support the infrastructure of the finance industry and scale business growth, with more than 24 financial institution in 10 countries adopting its payment solutions. Soft Space offers "Fasstap" that supports NFC touch payment simply by installing a dedicated application on a commercially available tablet or smartphone.
GMO-FG has partnered with Soft Space to provide a terminal-less payment service that does not require a dedicated payment terminal in order to promote cashless payment solutions in various markets in Japan and to contribute to the promotion of cashless usage rates.
As a result, businesses that have introduced this service do not need to pay for the installation of dedicated terminals or equipment maintenance, making it possible to easily support cashless payment at a low cost.
