I wanted to increase communication with users

  • CHUMS has always actively used social media such as blogs and Twitter. Also, in the U.S., where our company is based, CHUMS has already created a Facebook page. Therefore, I wanted to create a Facebook page in Japan as soon as possible in order to increase communication with our users.

    Ultimately, we opened CHUMS Online Shopping. In addition to enabling communication with users, this Facebook page also functions as an E-commerce store using F-commerce.

We received numerous proposals from many companies. However, since we have used payment services provided by GMO-PG for many years, we had trust in this company. I had heard the term “F-commerce” and was aware that commerce was possible on Facebook. Therefore, I wanted to create an environment in which users who became followers of CHUMS on Facebook could immediately view products.
CHUMS sells products through both retail stores and mass merchandisers. However, stores only offer a limited amount of space, and it isn’t possible to display all of our several hundred products. Furthermore, we don’t have any stores in some regions.
In that respect, almost all of our products can be handled at an E-commerce store and we can ship to anywhere in Japan. This has earned us the support of users.

  • Honestly, the effect was even greater than I expected. I never imagined that our number of followers would increase so suddenly. Even more, when I post photographs or messages to our Facebook wall, followers immediately respond with Likes or Comments. I’m also surprised at the volume of responses, and it makes me very happy. Moreover, the response is more positive than I had imagined, and it made me realize the expectations of users for CHUMS.
    GMO-PG formed a firm understanding of CHUMS’ target customers and made a proposal for acquiring high-royalty users. I’m happy with our decision to entrust advertising distribution to GMO-PG,
    and I’m satisfied with all aspects of the service, including quality, speed, and information provision. I was particularly surprised by the price. GMO-PG provided services at a special price for merchants using payment services. Frankly, I was glad that we already use their payment services. I’m also looking forward to further enhancement of services offered by GMO-PG.
    I really trust GMO-PG, and I eagerly anticipate receiving more high-quality information and proposals, and cooperating with them to overcome new challenges in the future.

    I believe that social media is a media form that matches our company’s slogan of “Hang with your Chums.” So, I will continue to actively use social media.

    Finally, we are also considering overseas expansion of the CHUMS brand with a focus on Asia. CHUMS will continue to embrace new challenges. Please expect great things from CHUMS in the future!
